A New Life in Isla de Margarita

I wanted my first blog post from Margarita to be a thank you to the people who helped me get here.

The first person I need to thank is Scott who has helped me immensely with info about the Island, ferried me around and gave me somewhere to stay whilst I find my feet... oh and also introduced me to a new network of great people some of whom I already consider to be friends.

Here is a pic of Scott with Sean who is the lead singer of the band (Fondo Blanco) we saw on Friday 16th June for Scott's birthday.  Sean is a top guy and one of the few people I can chat with about some of my more obscure tastes in Heavy Metal from my youth 😁

I wanted to thank Dave and Fran also for their help in getting my flat ready for rental.  Dave helped me kick start the process by redecorating the main bedroom which I had let get into a state of disrepair (my excuse is I had to keep the rest of the pad immaculate for AirBNB 😵).  Fran worked her magic on the interior design side and literally transformed the place.  In the last couple of weeks before I left she went above and beyond in helping me with those finishing touches.  She could give Linda Barker a run for her money.

I would also like to thank my friends and family who supported me with the move.  It wasn't easy, in fact its probably the hardest thing I've ever done.  There will no doubt be challenges, but you only get one shot at life.  I've always dreamt of living abroad, learning a new language and culture.  As I was reminded recently its how you fill the gap.
